Growing concerns about homeless residents in Volusia County are leading to the proposed closing of the county’s administration building as those without shelter have started camping out there.
Homeless people have been gathering outside the Volusia County Administration Center for a few weeks now. This is the place where you go to pay your taxes, get tags for your car and do other business. Homeless people have been using the location as a campsite after Daytona Beach closed a park. The building also houses courts and State Attorney’s Office workers, with about 100 employees total.
